Junta’s night airstrikes on Sar Pyin Gyi village kill 3 civilians, injure 6 others

The military junta conducted nighttime airstrikes with a jetfighter on Sar Pyin Gyi village in Moe Sel island under Rathedaungtownship of Arakan State, which killed three civilians and injured  6others.

 

A local resident informed Narinjara News that the junta'sairstrikes after 11 pm on 28 August  killed two men and one woman.

 

"The junta forces conducted airstrikes on Sar Pyin Gyiafter 11 pm,” said the resident.

 

Due to the junta’s restriction on communication technologyacross the Moe Sel island region, Narinjara News is yet to get more detailsabout the casualties.

 

On 18 August at around 1  pm, the junta soldiersconducted four airstrikes with a jet fighter while a charity feast wasorganized at Byine Kyun monastery on the entry point to Rathedaung.

 

On 21 May at around 6 am, a naval vessel stationed near ThaWin creek in Maungdaw fired shells on Zay Di Pyin village under Rathedaungtownship without any provocation, which  killed an elderly man and injuredsix others.

 

The Arakan Army (AA) took control over Rathedaung townshipon 17 March.

 

The residents reported that despite the region remainingpeaceful, the junta forces continue conducting airstrikes.
