‘China opposes any external interference and infiltration in Myanmar’

China’s foreign minister Wang Yi, who is also an important member of the Communist Party of China’s central committee, commented that Beijing firmly opposes any external interference and infiltration in Myanmar.

 

Meeting Myanmar's junta chief senior general Min Aung Hlaing on 14  August in Naypyidaw, the communist leader also added that China opposes any remarks that attempt to sow discord in China-Myanmar relations or smear and vilify China.

 

Some of his important statements include, need to restore the democratic transition process as soon as possible and find a path to long-term peace and stability, as a friendly neighbor China opposes any chaos or conflict in Myanmar, China adheres to a friendly policy toward Myanmar, Beijing firmly upholds the principle of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs it respects Myanmar's political tradition as well as development path in line with its own national conditions, China firmly supports Myanmar's independence, sovereignty, national unity, and territorial integrity,  China is committed to supporting Myanmar in achieving domestic peace, stability, and economic development, China backs Myanmar's efforts to advance a new five-point roadmap within the constitutional framework, China is willing to deepen cooperation with Myanmar in various fields,  China is accelerating major projects under the Belt & Road Initiative, the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor,  China is accelerating the operation of the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline project,  China aims to help improve the livelihoods of the Myanmar people and Beijing is willing to work with Nay Pyi Taw to achieve more tangible results in  building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
