The junta forces conducted an airstrike with a jetfighter on the Mrauk-U hotel intersection on the road to Shaitthaung temple inKyet Zay ward of Mrauk-U town in Arakan State. The attack resulted in killingof six men and injuring ten others, said local residents.
At around 12:30 pm on 10 August, the junta soldiersdropped a bomb near the hotel and U Ottama ark, stated a resident who visitedthe location.
“Six people died on the spot and ten others wereinjured. Two cars were completely destroyed. A father along with his son in acar was killed instantly,” added the resident.
The victims have been identifiedas Khaing Kyaw San( 8 years old) and Htin Win Tun (25 years old), Soe Soe Naing (25 years old), Aung Win Shwe (25years old), U Kyaw San (42) and U Mya Than (59) where the injured individuals include Ma Moe Moe Naing (18), Ma Suu Pone Chine (18)), Maung Myat Than (20), Daw Than Than soe (39),Daw Wai Wai Hnin (35), Daw Phyu Hla Ma (66) and U and Chit Maung (30 years old),U San Win Naing ( 42), U Pru Soe (40 years old) and U U Than Win (53 yearsold).
The targeted area was crowded with shops, cars andpassengers.
“After dropping the bomb, the jet fighter hovered forsome time,” he stated.
The victims were primarily vendors. Many cars,cycle-rickshaws and Indian tuk-tuks were also damaged.
On 6 August at around 2 am, the junta forces fired twomissiles near the food & drug administration office, which is close to OakPho Kan village near Mrauk-U town.
On 4 June at around 1 pm, the junta soldiersdropped two bombs from a jet fighter near Wai Thar Li village under Mrauk-U which injured a grade 7 student.
On 24 May at around 10 am, the junta dropped two bombsbehind the district general administration office and courthouse in Lay MyoeSar ward of Mrauk-U. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
