A military junta’shelicopter crashed at  Hmawbi township of  Yangon which killed a generaland a colonel.

The deceased have been identified as general Soe Tin Lattand colonel Mya Thaung (who was the co-pilot). A female pilot and a supervisorwere also seriously injured in the crash.

Military junta’sspokesman major general Zaw Min Tun confirmed the incident while talking to VOANews. He opined that the accident took place because of bad weather shortlyafter taking off from the Hmawbi air base on Friday afternoon.

 Social media users indicatedthat the crashed helicopter was a Eurocopter 365.

 Victim Soe Tin Latt was recentlypromoted from a commander of Magway air forces base to the commander of southernregional air command.
