Facing relentless setbacks, junta forces intensify attacks on residential places’

The Arakan Army (AA) claims that the military junta forces, after facing relentless setbacks in various fronts, develop grudges and start  attacking residential villages every day.

 

"The junta forces are continuously conducting aerial bombardments and drone attacks on the villages of Rakhine State including towns and villages under the AA’s control. The villages under Maungdaw, Thandwe and Ann townships are under relentless attacks,” said a statement issued by the AA on 11 June.

 

The junta soldiers have targeted almost everything like  hospitals, clinics, markets, schools, monasteries, etc and they are supported by the navy personnel with artillery shelling.

 

On 4 and 5 June 2024, Sin Gaung village under  Thandwe township was targeted by  aerial bombardments. A number of civilians were killed and injured by the airstrikes.

 

According to the AA prepared list, 14 were killed and 24 injured in Sin Gaung village on 4 June, where over 60 houses were destroyed.

 

On 11 June 2024, the junta forces carried out four airstrikes through one Y12 aircraft. Moreover, drone bombings were also conducted on ward-1, Tha Win Chaung monastery, Ma Naw Thiri and Let Pan Pyar villages under  Pauktaw township.

 

At least 13 drone bombs struck the villages and all were carried out by the junta soldiers. Ten civilians, including six women, were injured and several houses were destroyed in the attack.

 

The injured individuals were U Nyi Nyi Aung (37) and U Ne Win (38) from ward-1, Daw Hnin Chey (38), Daw Aye Kyawt Sein (53) and U Aung Kyaw Soe (45) from the vicinity of Tha Win Chaung monastery, Ma Chey Yin Than (16), Daw Nu Aye (30), Daw Za Nee Mel (50), Daw Oo May Than (57) and U Hla Maung Than (28) from Let Pan Pyar village.
