Five members of a family, including two children, were injured by a remnant
bomb explosion in Ramree town of Rakhine State, as they brought it home.
The injured individuals include Ma Khaing
Thazin Phyo (one and a half years old), Ma Yin Yin Nu (3), Maung Kyaw Kyaw
Thein (14), Daw Win Win Yee (34) and Daw Nu Win Yee (36) from number 6 Nyaung
Pin Hla ward of the town.
Maung Kyaw Kyaw Thein saw the remnant bomb in an orchard on 16 May and
picked it up. But his mother asked him to leave it. He dropped the remnant bomb
and suddenly the explosion took place.
"The explosion occurred when a bomb was dropped
inside the house and all five family members sustained injuries. Fortunately,
there was no casualty,” said a local resident.
Currently, they are undergoing treatment at the
hospital.
