At least 1,500 houses were burnt down by the military juntaand its affiliates in Buthidaung township of Rakhine State during April, saidData For Myanmar.
According to data, released on 3 May, 3,960 houseswere destroyed by arson carried out by the junta forces across Myanmar inApril.
On the other hand, 1,500 houses were torched inButhidaung locality. Similarly, 1,220 houses were burned in Mandalay region,997 in Sagaing region and 229 in Magway region.
"According to the local sources, 2,000 to 3,000 houseswere burnt down in Buthidaung. Data For Myanmar has included an approximatenumber only and it will be updated with confirmed details later,” added thereport.
According to data collected till the end of April2024, a total of 88,373 residential houses were destroyed after the coup on 1February 2021 by junta forces and their affiliates.
