Taungup Myoma police station commander deserts weapon, flees

Senior inspector San Nyunt, station commander ofTaungup Myoma police station in Rakhine State, has deserted his weapon and fledon Wednesday.

 

A police officer informed Narinjara News that thepolice station commander, a native of Ma-Ei town, fled from the office  ataround 8 am on 3 April  without taking any weapon with him.

 

"He fled without taking any weapon. He is agentleman and seems to  have no other issues. However, he had someproblems with the police superintendent. Many believe that's why he ranaway," added the police officer.

 

After learning about the commander’s fleeing, theauthorities searched both the entrance and exit gates of Taungup township. Evenafter conducting a thorough search they did not find him.

 

After the incident, the police superintendent Kyaw ZinThant warned the entire police station staff.

 

Taungup superintendent Kyaw Zin Thant has beentransferred from the military and he is known for his oppressive behaviourtowards the employees including the station commander.

 

Earlier some police officers also fled from thestation and many others are preparing to resign from their positions.
