The junta forces have carried out airstrikes on themountains between Thandwe and Taungup townships in southern Rakhine State thisafternoon, said the local residents.
The airstrikes were carried out on the mountains near ChiChaung between Hone Pauk village under Taungup township and Daw Mya Newvillage under Thandwe township at around 1 pm, informed a resident ofShwe Hlay.
“The airstrikes were carried out targeting Chi Chaung.I heard the sound of 11 explosions. A jet fighter flew over the village manytimes,” he added.
Hone Pauk village and Chi Chaung areas are located between Thandwe and Taunguptownships.
"I heard explosions after the warplanes flew in theafternoon hours," said a resident of Kan Day village.
Narinjara News tried to contact nearby villagers to verify if any clash brokeout between the Arakan Army (AA) fighters and junta forces in those areas.
The residents also reported that Mytel phone lines were down in Thandwe andTaungup localities this morning.
