Intense clashes between the
Arakan Army (AA) and junta forces erupted near Sai Tin bridge in southern
Buthidaung locality of Rakhine State.
"The clashes began on
28 January morning and persisted for many hours," said a resident.
He added that the clashes unfolded on and around the
bridge.
"I heard that the
military junta suffered a huge loss. It seems, the AA fighters attacked the
junta soldiers stationed on the bridge and base near it. However, the details
are yet to be known," he said.
From around 6:40 am on 27 January, the clashes broke
out near Kyar Nyo Pyin bridge camp of Buthidaung township and the
fighting continued till next day, reported the Three Brotherhood Alliance.
There are reported casualties among the soldiers in
that battle.
