276 junta soldiers, fled to India, sent back to Sittwe in two groups

The 276 junta soldiers including 36 officers, who fledto India’s Mizoram State, have been sent back to Sittwe township of Rakhine State in two groups from Lengpui airport in Aizawl.

 

The first group with 184 soldiers was sent on Monday.The second group with 92 personnel is being readied to send back today.

 

On 17 January, these junta soldiers enteredBandukbanga village, located at the India-Myanmar-Bangladesh tri-junction, inMizoram's southernmost Lawngtlai district with arms and ammunition. Theyapproached the Assam Rifles personnel and later they were taken to Parvamilitary camp.


Most of them were shifted to  Lunglei under the supervisionof the Assam Rifles personnel.

 

Those soldiers were brought to Aizawl last week. Amongthem there were many high rank officers including a colonel too.
