Following AA's drone strikes, 539th battalion unleashes artillery shelling on rural areas

After the Arakan Army (AA) dropped many bombs with drones on the 539th lightinfantry battalion based in Kan Sauk of  Kyauktaw township, the soldierscontinuously fired artillery shells into the villages.

Sources close to the AA  disclosed that their members utilized the dronesto bomb the battalion by Thursday night.

"The  AA members dropped the bombs with the help of drones. A single dronecan carry six bombs. I don't know details of how many times they dropped thebombs,” added the source.

While the number of junta casualty because of the drone attack remains unclear,the concerned battalion started firing artillery shells continuously from 12midnight till next morning on 12 January.

"They have been firing artillery shells continuously throughout the night,”confirmed a Kyauktaw resident

Due to their continuous firing of artillery shells many explosions took placenear Kha Maung Taw, Chaung Tu, La Mu Thar, Goke Pi Htaunt, Ah Pauk Wa villagesunder Kyauktaw locality, compelling  many residents to flee from theirplaces.

On 11 January at approximately 5 pm, the artillery shells fired by the 539thbattalion exploded at Ah Pauk Wa village, which caused a monastery and severalhouses to catch the  fire.
