Myanmar junta removes navy chief, eastern command head

Myanmar junta has removed navy’s commander-in-chief admiral Moe Aung and commander of eastern command generalMyo Min Tun, said militaryreports.

Admiral Moe Aung has been reassigned as an advisor for national security affairs and his place wasfilled by chief of naval staff commodoreZwe Win Myint.

Maj-Gen Myo Min Tun, commanderof eastern command based in Taunggyi, has been transferred to theforeign ministry. He has been  succeeded by commandant of defense services academy major general Zaw MinLatt.

Colonel Kyaw Soe Lin, formerly deputy commander of the 22nd division, has been promoted to theposition of divisional commander for the 66th division. In another move, the deputy platoon commander of the8th military operations command(MOC-8) has been assigned to serve as thecommander of the 55th division.
