An armed clash has eruptednear the Shwe natural gas project and gas pipeline, which are major Chineseprojects in Myanmar, close to Dhanyawadi naval base in Kyauk Phyu township ofRakhine State.
"We heard the sound of gunfire from both sidesat around 9 am. By 10 am there emerged a temporary pause," said theresident.
He revealed that the AAmembers launched an RPG at a military vehicle coming from Thit Poke Taung navalbase at around 9 am.
"A military councilvehicle leaving the naval base was hit by the AA propelled RPG. Although therewas some damage, the details are yet to be confirmed," he stated.
However, a local youth from Kyauk Phyu mentioned thata vehicle leaving Dhanyawadi naval base was targeted by a landmine.
"At around 9 am, the AA members launched alandmine attack on two military vehicles near the naval base. I heard thatamong the two vehicles, the smaller one was hit by the landmine, causingsignificant damages," he added.
He mentioned that a senior military council officerwas also present in the convoy, but no details about any casualty areconfirmed.

The location of conflicts isthe largest military base in the Rakhine region. Moreover, many Chineseprojects are located on Maday island, which is not very far from the place
