Two men sustained injuries after stepping onlandmines in Myebon Township, Rakhine State.
A resident of Myebon informed Narinjara Newsthat on December 18, two men were injured, with one losing his leg and theother sustaining a facial injury after they stepped on landmines in Yoe Chaung Creek, MyebonTownship.
"I can confirm that individuals havesustained injuries from landmines. However, we don't know exactly how theystepped on landmines," the resident said.
The individual who lost his leg is 50-year-oldU Soe Maung from Wet Yu Village, Myebon Township, while the person with afacial injury is 40-year-old Maung Myint Than.
A resident of Myebon informed Narinjara thatthe injured individuals are currently being transported to Kan Htaung GyiHospital in Myebon Township for medical treatment.
"We have been transporting them to KanHtaung Gyi hospital since yesterday," said the resident.
On December 15, a man lost one leg and sufferedserious injuries to the other leg after stepping on a landmine planted in thefence of the Myoma Police Station in Zay Haung Pine Ward, Minbya Township.
