The Three Brotherhood Alliance (AA, TNLA, andMNDAA) reported on the 53rd day of “Operation 1027” that four soldiers of the junta forces were killed,and ammunition and weapons were seized during the battle that took place on themorning of December 18 in Ramree (Yanbye) Township, Kyauk Phyu district,Rakhine State.
On December 18 at 8:13 AM, a clash with the junta troops was reported onthe hill where the Aung Chan Thar Pagoda is located, more than 200 meters southof Ramree Township on Ramree Island, Rakhine State.
The Junta troops launched attacks with warships and drones, butduring the battle, four Military Council soldiers were killed, and some of theenemy's weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized, according tothe statement.
The conflict marked the first clash inOperation 1027 on Ramree Island, where China's oil and natural gas project islocated.
Following the conflict, at approximately 12:00PM, the Military Council's jet fighters and two military helicopters conductedan airstrike on Ramree Township and nearby villages. According to a statementby the Three Brotherhood Alliance, this airstrike resulted in the destructionof some houses and gas stations in the urban ward.
