Residents reportedthat the deceased individual was Ko Maung Zeik from Laung Chaung Ward, and theperson severely injured was U Sein Shwe Oo from Nyaung Pin Hla Village.
According to aresident, Ko Maung Zeik from Laung Chaung Ward was killed on the spot by shellshrapnel during airstrikes by the Military Council on Ramree Township around12:30 PM, following a clash between the AA and the Military Council earlierthis morning.
"The clash thismorning resulted in two civilians being hit—one killed and one injured. KoMaung Zeik in Laung Chaung Ward died on the spot," stated the resident.
Residents alsoreported that U Sein Shwe Oo from Nyaung Pin Hla village sustained a leg injuryfrom shrapnel when the Military Council's jet fighters, helicopters, navywarships, and hill-based battalions fired artillery shells.
A resident of Ramreestated, "U Sein Shwe Oo from Nyaung Pin Hla village was hit by shrapnel inthe thigh. He was subsequently taken to Sane hospital."
On December 18,around 7 AM, the Arakan Army (AA) launched an attack on Thein Taung near theMyoma market in Ramree Township, where Military Council troops were stationed.This led to a skirmish between the two sides, as reported by residents.
From 12:00 p.m.onwards, Military Council troops utilized helicopters and jet fighters forfrequent hovering and airstrikes on Ramree Township and nearby villages wherethe conflict is ongoing.
Residents of Ramreeinformed Narinjara that the people of Ramree Township were compelled to fleefor their lives as the Military Council troops launched an attack on thetownship employing the army, navy, and air force.
Military Counciltroops are firing artillery shells from hill-based battalions, as well as airforce and navy, on Ramree Township. Residents reported that this afternoon, arow of gas stations near the South Okkala neighborhood in Ramree Township wasdestroyed, and houses in the town were set on fire.
When contacted at6:35 PM today, residents around Ramree Township reported that the sound ofartillery shells and small arms fire had temporarily ceased.
