At least five people, including U Kyaw San Kyaw, deputy director of Mrauk U district generaladministrator's office, have been detained by the Arakan Army (AA).
Those arrested others include chief officer U Maung Maung Lay, deputy chief U Ko Ko Aung and deputy chief U Aka Oo along with hismother.
"They were arrested by AA members on Sunday afternoon and taken to an AA outpost,” said a resident close tothe detainees.
Narinjara News contacted AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha about it, but he said had no information till then.
Meanwhile, U Aung Kyaw Mya (60), owner of a wood mill at Bandula ward in Mrauk U town, was reportedlyarrested by the junta forces.
Local residents alleged that since the afternoon of 4 December, the Mrauk U-based junta troops continuouslyfired guns with no provocation. Itcaused a panicky situation for the civilians across the township.
