The defense ministry of National Unity Government(NUG) has announced that Khampat town under Tamu Township of Sagaing division nearIndian (Manipur) border is recaptured on 5 November.

It is the second success in capturing towns after KawLin, a district in Saging region, by the revolutionary forces in Myanmar

Kachin Independence Army (KIA), People's Defense Army(PDF) and People's Defense Organization(PDO) under the number one military region in Tamu district command planlead the offensive.

Many otherrevolutionary groups like Tamu districtbattalion (2^nd) , Militaryregion specialbattalion (2) ,  Military areaweapon group, Frontlinecommand group, CNDF,  TDA, RCDF andKNA-Burma also joined in the operation.

It is reported that Khampat town was surrounded since3 November and after three days of attacks it came under the control ofcombined armed forces.
