A joint force of Kachin Independence Organization(KIO) and Arakan Army (AA) attacked a junta column, who came down from thehilltop outpost to carry food items, where 2 soldiers were killed.
At 9 am on 30 September, 15 junta soldiers of a jointforce from LIB 438 and LIB 437 (stationed at Shan Htongmountain) were going down to Nwanlan village under Momauk townshipof Kachin State, when the incident took place.
The KIO-AA members intercepted their movement andattacked the junta column, reported the Kokang media outlets.
Five MA automatic rifles, one pistol and severalbullets were seized by the joint forces.
About 200 junta soldiers are stationed at Shan Htongmountain, which is located along Bhamo-Nang San Yang highway and is close tothe headquarter of Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
The junta forceswere facing a shortage of ration in the camp and hence they often came down tocollect necessary items.
Lately, the junta soldiers have been losing theirmembers as they face a number of clashes with the ethnic armed forces and alsothe PDF across Myanmar.
