Soon after a secondaryschool teacher was raped and killed in Rathedaung townshipof Rakhine State on 16 September, the local residents express serious concern overthe security of common Rakhine people in their own places.

The case is now under investigation by the UnitedLeague of Arakan /Arakan Army (ULA/AA). The culprit is yet to be identified,informed the family members.
U Maung Kyaw Yin, head of the villageadministration, informed that the ULA/AA hasbeen investigating the crime. Some villagers and education staff in nearbyvillages were already interrogated.
Her cousin Ko Soe Min Aung informed that shewas on a noble mission and hence her murder will affect many more children inthe locality. He demanded that the culprits must be brought to justice byULA/AA authorities.
A resident of Pan PawByint village revealed that they haven't found theculprit till date. The lady had a stab wound on the thigh andher neck was silted. The victim’s body was found on the road.

Rakhine National Education Network secretary Ma MaWin informed Narinjara News that it was an unfortunate incident.The criminal raped and killed the teacher and it will scare other femaleteachers in the areas.
The locals have strongly condemned the incident, whichhas been reported for the first time in the locality, and demanded the arrest& punishment to the culprits under the laws at the earliest.
