A meeting of border guardcommander-level from Bangladesh andMyanmar was organised in the morning hours of 10 September.
The meeting was heldnear the friendship bridge on Naff river locatedat Kong domof Naikhongchari township in Bangladesh and Taungbro in Myanmar’ Maungdaw township.
According to Bangla Cox's Bazar News, two sides emphasized on communicating each other in need ofresolving issues from the border areas.
Furthermore, the cross-border human trafficking, drug smuggling and other border related issues werediscussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by 20 members from 38th battalion of Bangladesh Border Guard (led by colonelMo Ha March Saiful Islam) and 10representatives led by battalion commander of the second border guard from the Myanmar side.
The meeting highlighted on peace and tranquility over the international border, which oftenwitnesses various crimes including kidnapping,drugs & human trafficking and activities of armed groups.
In last July and August, the border guards of the two sides jointly conducted the maritime patrols alongthe Naff river between the two neighbouringcountries up to five times.
