The department of trade announced that 5 types of exports will be allowed only from the Sittwe bordertrading post (Shwe Mingang port),whereas the same has been restricted from Maungdaw trade station.
The allowed export items include agricultural products comprising rice/broken rice, pulses sesame,peanut and onion. Moreover, saltwaterand freshwater fishes are also permitted to export from Sittwe trading post.
With an aim to develop trades with other countries in an orderly manner, the department has taken thedecision and it started from 4Septemberlast.
Maungdaw trade station was mainly used for transporting items from the Kanyin Chaung Economic Zone but currently it’snot allowed from the said tradestation. The Bangladesh side used for the Taknef port traded with Myanmar.
In the last four months (till July this fiscal year), the Myanmar-Bangladesh bilateral tradeincreases to US$ 3.57 million, whereexports from Myanmar increases to US$3.35 million.
