A young man, suspected of committing a crime of raping of aminor girl, at Laytaung sub-town of RakhineState’s Rambree township, was arrested by Arakan Army (AA)members.

The arrested young man is identified as Maung San NyeinOwn (14 years old), who raped a 4-year-old girl in his neighborhoodon 22 August, said local residents.

He was picked up by AA members at around 6 pm on 24 August.

"Maung San Nyein Own ran away after the crime. But the local people werelooking for him. Finally, he has been arrested. Though very young himself,he will be punished under the law,” added the villagers.

The ward administrator admitted that he came to know about theincident.

"Only thing, I come to know that itwas a rape case. I don't know more about it.The victim was not questioned as she is too young to respond,” headded.

The victim, a first-grade student,is undergoing medical treatment at KyaukPhyu district hospital. The AA is understood to investigateand punish the guilty.
