8 overseas employment agencies closed down by military council

The military council has temporarily revoked the licenses of eight overseas employment agencies on 5 Junelast.

Those agencies include Labor King Co. Ltd., Shwe Phyo Thar Co. Ltd., Royal ABS Co. Ltd., Top Choice ManpowerCo. Ltd., Myint Myat Tan Khon Co.Ltd., Phyu Sin May Co. Ltd., Poe Poe & Pho Thander Tun Co. Ltd. and Shwe Mandalar May company.



Among those, three agencies were suspended temporarily for six months and five were suspended for one year.

Regarding the suspension of their licenses, the federal labour ministry revealed that they did notfollow the rules & regulations establishedby the labour directorate.

"Everybody who wants to go overseas for work should studythe background of theagencies thoroughly. There are many agencies functioning under the blacklist. Now we want to study what theyare going to present on socialmedia,” said an officer in charge of an overseasemployment agency.




Most of the punished agencies used to send Myanmareseworkers to Thailand.

Currently, there are 151 Thailand (private) agencies which are working on the ground. According to theinformation received from the foreign jobsearch companies, those agencies have been allowed to send workers to the neighbouring countries.
