A large number of shade trees were uprooted by cycloneMocha across Rakhine State and now the United League of Arakan/ Arakan Army(ULA/AA) starts replanting in several areas under their control.
Starting from 17 June, shade trees are being plantedalong the road in Lakka village under Mrauk U township, said a 20 June ULA/AApress release.
Besides the shade trees, many other useful plants wereuprooted by the powerful cyclone that hit Rakhine State on 14 May.

ULA/AA also encourages the treeplantation throughout the State.
Due to the unregulated and smuggled logging as well aswood cutting for charcoal production, the forest areas face destruction and theresidents now feel the heat of climate change in their daily life andlivelihood.
