A total 2,826 shanties were damaged in Rohingya camps inTeknaf and Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar due to the impact of Cyclone Mocha, accordingto a report prepared by the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC).
Among those, 278 shanties were damaged completely while2,548 were partially damaged, according to the report compiled around 11:00pm.
Seven Rohingyas were also injured during the cyclone.
Besides 32 learning centres, one health centre and 29mosques, were also affected.
The report added that around 135 feet of road in theRohingya camps was damaged while there were landslides in 120 places in thecamps.
A total of 5,386 Rohingyas have been relocated to saferplaces from the risky zone.
As precautionary measures, shelter kits have been kept asideand will be used for the rehabilitation of the Rohingyas' shanties after therain stops, said Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) MohammedMizanur Rahman.
Initial reports had suggested around 500 makeshift houseswere damaged due to the cyclone.
