In a statement, the department informs that the low-pressurearea may coverthe southeastern part by tomorrow. It will gain strength by 9 May and finally reachdepression next day.
Moving towards the northern area it will emerge as a cyclonic stormin the Bay of Bengal.
According to the recent forecast there will be light showers and thunderstorms in Sagaing, Mandalayand Tanintharyi regions and the Statesof Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Mon.
Indian met departments also informed that a cyclonic circulation had formed in the southeastern part of theBay of Bengal.
Details about the cyclone are yet to be provided, butit’s under constant observationof responsible monitoring agencies.
The department also added that there is a large variation among the cyclone forecastingmodels with the landfall point varying from southeast to northeast Myanmar between 13 and 14 May.
