A 14-year-old Muslim student hailing from AkaTaung village under Rathidaung townshipwas murdered by miscreants on Friday in the palm forest near Thami Hla village. Thevictim has been identified as Maung Mamat Sa Taek, a grade-ix student.
The student went on missing, while travelling aloneto Thami Hla village under thesame township, by 3 pm on 31 March, said local residents.
As there was no phone call from the student tillthe night hours, the families alongwith villagers started looking for him.
An elder from Aka Taung village informed that he was found dead on 1 April with cutwounds at his neck. Later his body was taken to his village for burial at noon.
"When we found him, his neck has serious injuries. Now the villages are worried about the incident,” headded.
He also informed that the gold ring worth Kyats 3 million,worn by the slainstudent in his left hand, was missing.
Currently, the United League Arakan (ULA, political wing of the Arakan Army) is also investigating the matter.They suspect two Muslim men fromThami Hla village to be involved with the murder.
