A book titled ‘A Little Boy On Ramree Island’ on variuosRakhine customs was released on 6February at the American Amazon KDP booksstore.
Co-authored by Aung Zay Mong and his wife Jill Brock Mong,the English book was also bought by many people.
Content of the book includes the public life of RamreeIsland after 1980 and also therural landscape of the Rakhine region.
"The main reason for writing this book is to let thefuture generation of Rakhine knowabout the past. Interested people from all over the world can also read it. Rather than becoming the best seller, wewant this book to be a record ofthe Laytaung village of Ramree island,” said the author.
The book with 34 chapters in 385 pages is priced at $6.99for the e-book, $12.99 for theregular and $19.99 for the hardcover one.
Currently, the book emerges as one of the best sellers. Itis placed #1 on Amazon sale rank(new released teens & young adult adventure and adventures ebook). It is ranked #6 on the 100 best sellers and#95 on the teen and adultbiography ebooks list.
The book can be ordered and read in all countries where theAmazon is available. It is alsoplanned to be published and distributed inMyanmar.
"We have a plan to make it available in Myanmar too, but we don't know how the existing political situationimpacts it,” added the author.
Mentionable is that author Aung Zay Mong is a native ofLaytaung village under Ramreetownship of Rakhine State. He moved to Ohio in the United States of America during 2010.
