The military regime has used an informal ceasefire signed lastmonth with the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army to replenish its forces andsend soldiers, weapons and food throughout Rakhine State.
Eyewitnesses told Narinjara News at 11am on Monday that theysaw four barges docked at Min Bar Gyee Quay in Minbya Township.
“We saw weapons and food being transported from these bargesto the 541 Battalion and also heard that they were being sent to the 379Battalion via the 541 Battalion,” a source told Narinjara News on condition ofanonymity.
He said that army trucks loaded with the supplies left theport at 2 pm to an unknown destination.
Another anonymous source said the barges started from Min GanPort in Sittwe Township after being loaded with weapons and ammunition from theShwe Min Gan naval outpost.
It took two days for 68 trucks to fill the five barges. OnSunday, one of the barges was taken to Maungdaw. 45 trucks were used to emptythe contents of the barges and transport them to all of their destinations.
After the massive deployment of weapons and food, residentsfear that the ceasefire won’t hold much longer and the war will flare up again.
