The Arakan Army announced it had taken control of the Lait-yastation in northern Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State on Monday morning.
The announcement said it had taken three enemy soldiers ashostage, confiscated some dead bodies of the enemy, arms and ammunitions andsome military utencils. One AA soldier sacrificed his life for the country andpeople. It further stated that the fighting took only a short time with the leastcasualty.

Due to the firing of heavy weapons day and nightcontinuously from the military council battalion in Rakhine State, innocentpeople have been killed, injured and houses damaged and fightings havecontinued.
Despite no fighting at all, more than 30 rounds of heavyweapons have been fired from the enemy station based by Kyaut-taw Regimentheadquarters and near Yoke-thar village between 8-19pm on 9 October.
The AA had startedattacks on the military council’s border guard Lait-ya Station in Maungdaw at4am on 10 October as it has not only been bullying and threatening the peoplein villages and towns with heavy weapons, it is the station that has beencoercing the people as hostages.
It is a station where the border guard police forces andmilitary council forces are not only staying together but it is one of thestations that has been a station where heavy weapons were fired aimlessly.
The AA was able to take full control of the station in aboutone hour despite the enemy’s heavy weapons fired from many directions.
Three enemy soldierswere taken hostage alive and some dead bodies from enemy side, arms andammunitions and military apparatuses were confiscated. One AA soldier sacrificedhis life for the country and people.
The station has been one which has been taken control inshortest period of time and with the least number of casualty.
The Arakan Army’s brave soldiers who were able to conquerthe station have been profoundly put on record.
