A woman in Kyan Dike villageunder Min Bya township was injured in ashell explosion, which was deliberately fired by the junta forces on Wednesdaynight.

The injured lady is identified asDaw Sein Aye Nu (over 40 years old) and is said to have come from Pha Provillage to escape the battle there. While taking shelter in KyanDike village, she faced the explosion.

The army personnel, stationed atMinywa hill number 144, fired three artillery shells on 5 October in the evening hours, one of whichexploded in the village.

The lady sustained injuries all overher body and it was difficult to shift her to the hospital because of nighthours as the security forces had blocked all the roads, said a villager.

On 26 and 27 September, threevillagers includinga child, were injured in Min Pya township's Keng Laung Choung village due tothe shooting by the military council’s navy personnel using the helicopter.

Last night, the LIB (541) battalion fired heavy weapons on Mae TawTaung hill of Min Bya township, informing a Minpya town resident at about 8:30pm.

The army personnel have beenshelling over several townships like Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Rathedaung, KyaukTaw, Min Bya and Mrauk U during night hours without any provocation. Thoseexplosions have killed and injured many civilians and also damaged manyresidential buildings.
