The pillar number40 of the border police station located at Myanmar-Bangladesh border areas hasbeen captured by the Arakan Army (AA) on Wednesday.
AA confirmed itin the statement that the camp was successfully occupied by AA members in themorning hours.
“The 40-mileborder post was successfully captured on Wednesday morning after our forcessurrounded and attacked for some days,” the AA statement added.
The Myanmarmilitary council tried to protect the camp using helicopters and fighter jetsbut it was eventually captured by spirited AA members.
"The pillarnumber 40 of the border police station is located at Myanmar-Bangladesh borderareas, about 50 miles north of Maungdaw town. Following the AA attacked thecamp, 19 border polices were reportedly killed and one police was arrested. Some members of AA sustained injuries,” said the statement.
Myanmar police'ssocial media input also confirmed about the fall of the camp.
“More than300 AA forces attacked the Myanmar-Bangladesh border police station at a40-mile base. About 20 members of police forces fell down. The camp wasprotected by our comrades with sacrifices of their lives till lasttime. The camp fell down this morning (31.8.2022), added thefacebook input.
