The military council forces onThursday at 10 pm entered an apartment at Shwe Pyithar ward of Sittwe and searched for passports andother documents from three Chinese nationals, who were staying there.
Around 100 individuals from the juntasoldiers, police & immigrant departments raided the apartment during thenight hours and checked various documents belonging to those Chinese nationals.
A government source, who wantedanonymity, confirmed that those Chinese nationals were detained by the navy forceson 14 August, while they were traveling by a boat.
“The concerned authority in Kyauk Pruinformed the Sittwe-based security forces to seize all documents includingpassports of those Chinese nationals, who were detained by the junta authorityin Kyauk Pru, but I don't know more details,” he added.
NarinjaraNews contacted Rakhine State military council’s spokesperson U Hla Thein andKyauk Pru township’s administrator over telephone but they did not respond.
Alocal resident informed that the junta forces also checked the family lists andvisitor lists in several other apartments in the premises.
“Iwas also asked for the family lists. They asked my parent’s name too and mycareer as well. I was worriedwhile they checked the family lists as they held guns on me,” he added.
Thearrested Chinese nationals were staying in the apartment for a long time but noone was aware of their activities. The locals only knew that they came toSittwe for business interest.
