Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Arakan Army (AA). On this auspicious occasion, a large number of
political parties and armed force organizations have sent congratulatory
messages to the AA.
Messages have come from NUG (
National Unity Government), Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF / TNLA)/Myanmar National Democratic
Alliance Army (MNTJP / MNDAA), People's Revolutionary Alliance (PRA-Magway), People Independent Organization (PIO),
People’s Liberation Army (PLA),Yangon-based
All Students' Unions ASU/SAF, Democracy
Party for A New Society
(DPNS), Mara Administrative
Territorial Council (MATC/MDf) etc.
They were unanimous in their views that the military dictatorship of Burma should be overthrown and a union
based country on federalism and democracy
must be established in Myanmar.
They assured that fraternal alliances would continue until the goal is achieved. They also expressed
solidarity with the Rakhine people.
The AA with 26 members, led by General Tun Myat Naing and Dr Nyo Tun Aung, was raised in 2009 in Laiza, a KIA-controlled area. This 10 April
marks its 13th anniversary day of AA.
