Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Arakan Army (AA). On this auspicious occasion, a large number ofpolitical parties and armed force organizations have sent congratulatorymessages to the AA.
Messages have come from NUG (National Unity Government), Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF / TNLA)/Myanmar National DemocraticAlliance Army (MNTJP / MNDAA), People's Revolutionary Alliance (PRA-Magway), People Independent Organization (PIO),People’s Liberation Army (PLA),Yangon-basedAll Students' Unions ASU/SAF, DemocracyParty for A New Society(DPNS), Mara AdministrativeTerritorial Council (MATC/MDf) etc.
They were unanimous in their views that the military dictatorship of Burma should be overthrown and a unionbased country on federalism and democracymust be established in Myanmar.
They assured that fraternal alliances would continue until the goal is achieved. They also expressedsolidarity with the Rakhine people.
The AA with 26 members, led by General Tun Myat Naing and Dr Nyo Tun Aung, was raised in 2009 in Laiza, a KIA-controlled area. This 10 April marks its 13th anniversary day of AA.
