One more Covid-19 patent dies today in Sittwe, said Dr Soe Win Paing, assistant director of Rakhine public health department.
The deceased has been identified as a 52-year-old resident of Sittwe. He suffered from diabetic related ailment and tested positive for the novel corona virus infection.
The victim hailed from Padaleik village under Sittwe township and died at Sittwe people's hospital at around 6 am, informed Zaw Hlaing Tun from Rakhine Covid-19 watch group.
"I think he was in the hospital for some time. He was a Covid-19 patient,” said Zaw Hlaing Tun.
The deceased's wife also tested positive for Covid-19 and she is presently undergoing treatment at Sittwe general hospital. The couple’s daughter has been quarantined at a government centre, said the Rakhine corona monitoring group.
At least seven people died to Covid-19 complications within 1 to 15 November in Rakhine State. The total corona casualties in the State rise to 24 till date.
Among the victims, 11 individuals died in Sittwe general hospital, one in Sittwe 100-bed hospital, two in Mrauk-U hospital, one in Kyauktaw hospital, three in Pauktaw hospital, two in Kyaukphyu hospital, one in Minbya hospital, two in Maungdaw hospital and one in Buthidaung hospital.
Presently, there are 261 active Covid-19 cases in Rakhine State, where 2,898 individuals were discharged from hospitals. The State recorded 3,167 cases, revealed the Rakhine corona monitoring group.
Myanmar as a nation recorded 68,011 Covid-19 cases (till 8 pm of 14 November), where 51,362 individuals recovered. According to the Union health and sports ministry, the south-east Asian country lost 1552 nationals to the pandemic.
