Three senior officers of Bangladesh Army have been sent intoforced retirement on Tuesday.
Those sent into retirement are Lieutenant Generals Md SaifulAlam, Ahammad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury and Major General Hamidul Haque.
Of them, Saiful Alam served as director general of theDirectorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).
He served as an area commander for the 11th InfantryDivision of Bogra Cantonment.
The action against the officers was taken followingSection-16 under the Army Act.
The forced retirements will be effective within 15 dayssince the orders were issued.
The Ministry of Defence issued two separate notificationsdated September 10 in this regard.
