Maungdaw police in western Burma have arrested two Bengali Muslim people along with a USA made revolver and 11 live bullets on March 14 last, said the media reports of many Burmese newspapers today quoting the police source.
According to the report, a police patrol team was searching a boat in a creek near Nga Khon Hto village under Kayin Dan village-tract of southern Maungdaw, where the police could seize the revolver with live bullets and also 7 long swords and many slingshots.
The police team also caught a Bengali Muslim though 5 other persons managed to escape from the site. Later the police could arrest another Muslim man from the locality.
The police source suspects that the machine boat might had come from Bangladesh with the gun and ammunitions. A case (Pa 52/2014) has already been registered in the Maungdaw police station.
