Over 1.8 million Yaba tablets seized in Maungdaw

Yaba tablets seized Maungdaw

The Myanmar authority on Monday seized 1813500 pieces of Yaba tablets from a house at Zular Muslim village under Maungdaw township in western part of Burma (Myanmar)  bordering Bangladesh.

U Myint Khaing, the Maungdaw township administrator confirmed it while responding to Narinjara News over telephone.

He informed that the Maungdaw authority with the help of border police personnel succeeded in seizing the Yaba tablets from the residence of  Ar Soutdular (17), son of Maw Gular Mauk.

The district police chief Nyan Win Oo in association with the township administrator raided the house by 4  pm of Monday, where they found the 1813500 tablets in 189 canvas bags from the kitchen of Soutdular.

The seized contraband Yaba tablets may worth about Kyat 3627000000. The police also seized one sophisticated mobile phone and a laptop the residence.

A case (no Maya (Pa) 8/2017 Mu/sit) under section  15/ 19(Kha) of the narcotics act was lodged following the recovery.
