Lightning kills a farm worker in Arakan

A farm worker was killed and four other injured when the lightning struck them at Tin Nyo  village of Mrauk U township in Arakan.

The incident took place on Tuesday noon, said the police source.

The victim is identified as U Tun Aye,  son of  UAye Tun from Outtha Gan village under the same township. The injured individuals include the land-owner U Aung Kyi with three other villagers.

U Tun Aye was buried at his village graveyard next day, said his relative from Tin Nyo  village.

According to the police source, a thunderbolt hit the farm area when all of them were working and U Tun Aye died on the spot. The others felt unconscious for some time. Later they were shifted to the village and presently all of them are out of danger.
