Huge Yaba consignment seized in western Burma border

The Myanmar Border police seized 570000 stimulated Yaba tablets at Maungdaw Township in western Burma on 5 May 2015, said a police source.

The source also claimed that it was the first big seize of Yaba tablets on western Burma border this year.

A squad of police on duty succeeded in seizing the banned tablets while it was patrolling on Myanmar- Bangladesh border localities.

The police team intercepted a car with YGN-7G- Isuzu near to Shwe Zar Post primary school from where 570000 Yaba tablets in two bags were found.

Both the bags were under the seat of the driver and the police detained Saw Shwe Tun alias Myo Wai Tun, who was driving the vehicle with his assistant Micle aliasĀ  Micle Tun.

It may be mentioned that the border police last month seized around 250000 Yaba tablets which were carried by a machine boat harboured in the offshore of Naff river near to Alay Than Kyaw village.
