Eight Civilians from the Mro village of Kai-Gree Dead Killed by Militants

According to the information we received, on Thursday morning the Islamic militants shot and killed the eight family members of Mro people, a sub-ethnic of Arakanese, from the Mro-Village of Kai Gree, Maungdaw Township in Arakan.

They were five women and three men among eight deaths, said U Sein Hla Maung who is a community leader from the Mro-Village of Kai Gree.

“On Thursday early morning, they just went to do daily jobs to the mountain range where some built tents in the fields and some did plantations. Muslim militants just shot and killed them as they saw them”, confirmed U Sein Hla Maung on Thursday afternoon at 14.15 p.m.

The deaths of eight people were identified as Ma Daw DounRee (27 years), Daw Sein Raung (30 years), Ma Done-Mwe (20 years), Ma Daw San Kaw (30 years), Ma Htaw Htaw (20 years), Ko Mine (20 years), LynnKrat (20 years) and KoneWine (25 years).

The Burmese army and Kai-Gree villagers went to the mountain range to bring back the dead bodies.

The Kai-Gree village has just 48-household.
