The Buthedaung lawmaker is facing arrest warrant from the Mingla Taung Nyunt police station under Rangoon division as he avoided police summons, reported  Radio Free Asia’s Burmese section.

The Muslim lawmaker named U Shwe Maung, who belonged to military backed USDP, was charged in a fraud case lodged by Shine Construction Co. Ltd’s general manager U Soe Naing under act 420, but he has been avoiding the arrest, said lawyer Daw Tin Tin Mya.

It is understood that U Shwe Maung borrowed Kyat 20 million (in 2012) and Kyat  15 million (in 2013) from the concerned company’s chairman U Aung Zaw Win. But he had not returned the amount till date.

Mentionable is that the company chairman U Aung Zaw Win is also a Muslim lawmaker, who won Maungdaw constituency of Arakan State. On the other hand, U Shwe Maung represents Buthedaung constituency of the same State as a legitimate winner in 2010 polls.
