Burmese president U Thein Sein is likely to visit Bangladesh by the middle of next month, said local media reports quoting the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry.
The report said that president Thein Sein is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in the next month, probably from 13-16 of March 2012.
“Officials from Burma and Bangladesh are still working on fixing a convenient date but Burmese president U Thein Sein is most likely to visit Bangladesh between the 13 to the 16 of March,” an official told local media.
The coming visit of the Burmese president to Bangladesh is coming from the invitation of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who visited Burma in first week of December 2011.
The visit of the Burmese president is aimed at further strengthening the existing relationships between the two neighbouring countries and also promoting bilateral cooperation in all sectors, especially trade and investments, the report said.
It was learned that Bangladesh is expected to be signing a number of agreements related to Businesses when the Burmese president visits in Bangladesh.
