Burmese Army takes goodwill visit to Bangladesh

bd_myanmar_flagA delegation of Burmese Army led by Vice Adjutant General Maj Gen Than Soe is presently visiting Bangladesh, according to ISPR press release.

The 48 member team consisting two Army officers, six physicians, 23 footballers and 17 volleyball players had arrived in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh on Wednesday.

During their visit, the team from Burma (Myanmar) is expected to meet the Bangladesh Army chief Gen Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and his deputy Maj Gen Ashraf Abdullah  Yussuf in Dhaka.

Besides participating in few friendly football & volleyball matches, the Burmese team is scheduled to discuss relevant bilateral issues with their counterparts in Bangladesh.

Maj Gen Than Soe will also lead the delegation while visiting few Bangladeshi institutions like Armed Forces Medical College, Armed Forces Institution of Pathology, Bangladesh Military Academy etc.

The delegation, which has visited the neighbouring country first time after the border tension erupted in May 2014, is living for Burma on Sunday.
