Burma frees three Bangladeshi constables

Teknaf: Burma released three Bangladeshi policemen and another civilian from its custody on 31 March through Maungdaw border point , said a Bangladeshi official report.

The Bangladeshi policemen and one civilian were handed over by the Burmese border security force Nasaka to its counterpart Bangladeshi border security force, BGB, 18 days after they were taken into custody in Burma.

A team of Border Guard Bangladesh, BGB, led by Captain Kamrul received them from Teknaf immigration check post where police super of Cox’sbazar district Md Azad Mia also presented himself to receive them.

The four Bangladesh nationals including three policemen were arrested by the Nasaka force when they entered Burmese territory mistakenly through Ghumdhum border point, northern part of Maungdaw Township, to take photographs.

Burmese authorities released them as the Bangladesh government was working diplomatically to bring them back to Bangladesh.
