Biman resumes Dhaka- Yangon flight

bimanDhaka: Regular return lights from Dhaka to Rangoon (Yangon) have started today after seven years of break following the decision of Biman, the national airlines of Bangladesh, to resume the service.

The Biman airlines authority had suspended the service in October 2006 because of loss incurred by the flights from the Bangladesh capital city to Burma’s former capital with its same day return journey.

According to Biman officials in Dhaka, a 162-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft is scheduled to leave for Yangon today afternoon at 4:15 pm (Bangladesh time). It will return fly to Dhaka from the Burmese city by 7:30 pm (local time).

The Biman will operate its fight in the route on every Monday and Thursday in a week. The fare for a return ticket is fixed at Taka 45,296 ($ 583) inclusive of all taxes in the economy class, where as the business class would cost Tk 71,612 ($922).
