Bangladesh counselor to Myanmar, Mr Awlad Hossain suddenly passed away on Saturday morning hours at Sittwe counselor office.

According to an officer in Bangladesh counselor office in Arakan, Mr Awlad Hossain died at 4:30 am of Saturday.

He was suffering from blood pressure and was around 50 years old. Soon after his demise, the Bangla government in Dhaka requested the Arakan government to send his body to Bangladesh through the Maungdaw-Teknaf border point.

“His body was handed over to Bangladesh authority through Hla Bawzar Chaung outpost under Maungdaw township at 6:20 pm on 19 August.  The coffin  was brought to Buthidaung from Sittwe by a speedy motor boat. Then it was carried from Buthidaung to Maungdaw by a vehicle,” added the officer.

Mr Hossain’s  wife and a child accompanied the body, which was intended to bury within a day accordance with the Muslim rituals in his native place.
